Karaderi Group

The Karaderi Group focuses on application of data science methodologies to investigate the genetic and non-genetic factors affecting an individual’s susceptibility to immune-mediated hypothyroidism and its co-morbidities to define more personalized approaches for prevention and treatment, and consequently, to enable precision medicine.

These data science methodologies rely on multi-disciplinary fields of study such as epidemiology, genetic epidemiology as well as machine learning to name the main disciplines involved. In the research group, the aim is to use a combination of these disciplines to define, refine and characterize patients and individuals at risk, and later, translate this knowledge into clinical practice to improve prevention and treatment processes.
